Fintube Operator

Location: Catoosa

Set-up and operate finning machines by performing the following duties.

What you will be responsible for:

• Ability to set-up and operate finning machines to wrap on or embedded fin strip material on tubes to construct fintubes by reading blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and finning methods and sequences.
• Mount pans then, aligns, and secures pan in machine.
• Ability to calculate and sets machine controls in relationship to work piece and regulate factors such speed, feed, and coolant flow; start machine and observe and listens to machine operation to detect malfunctions.
• Ability to feed tubes into the machine and connect other tubes with tube connectors to continue the finning process; adjusts machine feed and speed to fin tubes according to specifications.
• Verify dimensions of finned tubes for conformance to specifications using gauges, calipers, and ruler.
• Stop machine to change setup according to required machining sequence or to measure parts for conformance to blueprint specifications; perform oil level checks and clean machine, tooling, and parts.
• Perform some machine maintenance.
• Mount finning strips rolls into fin strip machine using overhead crane.
• Regular attendance, ability to arrive at work punctually, ability to work on-site, ability to work overtime.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others, ability to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to interchange with others in the department.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)

Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
