Manufacturing Engineer, Electronics Technician
Location: Elgin
PGS Worldwide is seeking a Mechanical Test / Assembly Technician in Elgin, OK for a 1-year contract-to-hire role working 1st shift, Monday–Thursday (4x10) with a 6:00 AM start. This on-site position supports a major aerospace & defense company and performs hands-on test, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly work using manufacturing test development or diagnostic equipment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with solid mechanical aptitude who can work from schematics and work instructions, partner effectively with engineers, and complete rework and quality testing to support production deliverables.
Required Skills
High school diploma or GED
Prior mechanical experience (production, repair, assembly, or similar)
Ability to read and work from schematics, diagrams, layouts, and written/verbal work instructions
Ability to identify and safely use basic hand tools and shop tools
Self-starter with strong follow-through and reliability
Team-oriented with solid communication skills
Preferred Skills
Prior assembly experience (mechanical or electromechanical)
Prior military vehicle experience
Experience supporting engineers with setup, calibration, or test execution
What You'll Do
Perform test, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly on parts, subassemblies, and final assemblies
Use diagnostic/test development equipment to execute defined plans and support production builds
Coordinate with engineers on task setup and calibration to ensure correct configuration
Perform rework and quality testing to verify compliance to requirements
Document work performed and results in required formats
Assist with methods/procedures that help control or improve manufacturing processes and support data collection as needed
