Material Handler II

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Warehouse Material Handler in Elgin, OK for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This role supports material movement within or near a plant, yard, or work site and may include shipping and/or receiving duties under specific direction. You will load and unload materials by hand and with material-handling equipment, use computer systems to track and record material activity, and support production operations by moving, stacking, and staging materials safely and accurately.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or GED

• Prior warehouse experience

• Ability to load, unload, and convey materials within or near a plant, yard, or work site

• Ability to perform shipping and/or receiving tasks as needed

• Ability to open containers using hand tools

• Ability to count, weigh, and sample materials

• Ability to use computer systems for tracking, logging, verifying, and recording information

• Ability to load and unload materials onto/from pallets, trays, multi-level racks, conveyors, machines, and trucks (by hand)

• Ability to convey materials using wheelbarrow, hand truck, forklift, electric dolly, elevator, or other devices

• Ability to stack or assemble materials

• Ability to assist machine operators by lifting heavy objects by hand or by use of power hoist

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment at times

• Ability to work as part of a team

What You'll Do

• Load, unload, and convey materials within or near the work site under specific direction

• Support shipping and/or receiving activities as assigned

• Open containers using hand tools and verify materials by counting, weighing, and sampling

• Track, log, verify, and record material activity using computer systems

• Load/unload materials to and from pallets, racks, conveyors, machines, and trucks by hand

• Move materials using material handling equipment and devices (wheelbarrow, hand truck, forklift, electric dolly, elevator, etc.)

• Stack, stage, and assemble materials as needed to support production flow

• Assist machine operators with moving heavy objects by hand or with power hoists
