We are seeking an experienced Senior Tool & Die Maker to support production operations in a manufacturing environment. The Senior Tool & Die Maker will build, repair, and maintain progressive, transfer, and/or line dies to ensure high-quality production and minimal downtime.
This role requires strong machining knowledge, die troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Build, assemble, and fit new dies according to engineering specifications and blueprints
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair dies to maintain production quality
- Perform preventive maintenance on dies, tools, and fixtures
- Operate manual mills, lathes, grinders, and CNC equipment as needed
- Perform die spotting, tryouts, adjustments, and fine-tuning
- Diagnose tooling issues during production and implement corrective solutions
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams
- Maintain documentation for repairs and maintenance activities
- Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards
- Minimum 5+ years of Tool & Die experience (building, repairing, maintaining dies)
- Strong ability to read blueprints, CAD drawings, and GD&T
- Knowledge of stamping processes, die mechanics, and tool steels
- Skilled in machining, grinding, polishing, and precision fitting
- Proficient with micrometers, calipers, indicators, and precision measuring tools
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Technical training or apprenticeship preferred
Physical Requirements
- Manufacturing/production floor environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Frequent standing, bending, and extended hand use
- Overtime may be required based on production needs
