We are currently seeking to expand our team with an individual who exhibits a safety-oriented mindset and focus on accuracy and efficiency.

Summary of Position

The Helper/Packager is responsible for operation of equipment used in the packaging of products at Peak Machining Group, Inc.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Safely drive forklift and operate crane to pull and move coils and skids within warehouse.
  • Operate packing line conveyor to transfer coils from slitter to the banding station.
  • Band and package material for shipping according to customer requirements.
  • Assemble skids and other shipping containers as needed.
  • Measure dimensions and gauge material with micrometer.
  • Confirm material specifications on inventory tags for orders being shipped.
  • Stage material for shipping according to bill of ladings.
  • Generate inventory tags to be placed on material being received.
  • Enter inventory tag data into computer system.
  • Obtain appropriate signatures on bills of lading.
  • Use precision when operating tools such as tape measures, micrometers, nibblers and calipers.
  • Maintain shipping supplies.
  • Keep immediate work area clean and organized throughout the day.
  • Adhere to all company safety rules, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Adhere to all company handbook policies and procedures.

These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Computer skills necessary
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good reading and math skills
  • Good organizational, problem solving, and time management skills
  • Ability to measure using different tools
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction
  • Operate with high integrity, maintaining positive relations with co-workers, customers, and suppliers
  • Strong work ethic; self-motivated
Preferred Qualifications
  • One or more years of warehouse packaging experience
