Slyder Pumps is a privately held Oklahoma LLC that specializes in the design, manufacture, sales, and service of pumps and pump systems for the Oil and Gas Industry. We are growing our manufacturing and machining capabilities, and we are looking for a self motivated individual that can assist in the setup and growth of mfg./machine shop in our HQ location of Carney, Oklahoma.

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Sr. CNC Machinist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in operating various machining tools and equipment (CNC Lathe, Manual Lathe, Manual Mill, Hob Cutter, etc). This role is crucial in ensuring the precision and quality of our manufactured components.

As Sr. CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for fabricating parts based on blueprints and specifications, utilizing advanced machinery and techniques. In addition to running and setting up CNC's, you will be tasked with overseeing another machinist and will help to prioritize what tooling, quality tools and machines we bring into the shop next.

Compensation negotiable based on experience/background, range is $20-$35/hr.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain lathes, mills, and other machining tools to produce high-quality parts.
  • Ability to operate CNC machines is a bonus, but not required.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments to ensure parts meet exact specifications.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Perform quality checks throughout the production process to maintain high standards of workmanship.
  • Document production processes and maintain accurate records of work performed.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Machinist or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lead/mentor younger machinists as they master manual machining and study to be able to setup CNC machines.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with proficiency in machining techniques.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
  • Knowledge of precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
