Essential Job Functions- Adhere to health and safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and wear required PPE while in the warehouse or production areas.
- Maintain food quality and safety per corporate, customer, and governing standards (e.g., SQF).
- Report problems with the FSMS to management to initiate corrective actions.
- Perform and complete repair maintenance, preventive maintenance, and line changeovers.
- Troubleshoot machinery malfunctions (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic).
- Maintain supporting equipment such as glycol, RO, compressed air, lubrication, and chemical distribution systems.
- Use innovative thinking to minimize downtime and ensure food safety, product quality, and personnel safety.
- Document and obtain final approvals on all assigned work orders, recording part numbers for inventory.
- Communicate effectively all maintenance and production information from shift to relieving shift.
- Assist in training other maintenance personnel.
- Communicate with production during periods of downtime.
- Work collaboratively with adjacent teams to resolve issues rapidly and drive improvement.
- Knowledge of GMPs.
- Understanding of Food Safety Requirements.
- Ability to read, understand, and work with machinery blueprints and parts manuals.
- Work independently without supervision.
- Good decision‑making/problem‑solving skills.
- Must obtain and maintain forklift certification.
- Decisive, proactive, self‑motivated, and assertive.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Data analysis and identification of trends.
- Internal customer focus with the ability to adapt to variable demands.
- Demonstrate initiative and think through to solution.
- Work effectively under own supervision.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years previous maintenance experience in manufacturing preferred.
- Work schedule:
Weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evening, overnight; overtime scheduled as needed. - Environment:
Fast‑paced plant with moving parts, high noise levels (requires hearing protection), variable temperatures.
- Minimal travel required for training as needed.
- Stand or sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; lift up to 50 lbs.; carry weight; walk; drive; climb stairs/ladders; visual/sensory attention to detail; coordination and dexterity; mental stress due to deadlines and quotas.
