The Director of Network Operations provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the organization’s networking infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability to support business objectives. This role drives innovation in network architecture, manages enterprise-level projects, and leads a high‑performing team of networking professionals. The Director collaborates across departments to align networking capabilities with organizational goals and emerging technologies.
Key Responsibilities Network Operations Oversight- Monitor enterprise network performance, uptime, and reliability across all sites and cloud environments.
- Review alerts and incident reports from the Network Operations Center (NOC) and ensure timely resolution.
- Guarantee adherence to SLAs for network availability and performance.
- Direct and coordinate responses to outages, degradations, and critical incidents, including root cause analysis and remediation plans.
- Lead and mentor network engineers, architects, and support staff, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation.
- Conduct regular stand‑ups and leadership meetings to align priorities and resource allocation.
- Review and approve work plans, change requests, and project timelines for accuracy and risk mitigation.
- Oversee staffing, succession planning, training programs, and performance evaluations to build a world‑class networking team.
- Oversee lifecycle management of network hardware/software, including upgrades, patching, and capacity planning.
- Evaluate and approve network architecture changes to ensure scalability, security, and compliance.
- Maintain alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements for network operations.
- Define and execute a multi‑year networking strategy aligned with organizational objectives and digital transformation initiatives.
- Plan for future capacity, emerging technologies (e.g., SD‑WAN, Zero Trust, cloud networking), and automation.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee procurement of networking services and equipment.
- Develop and manage the networking budget, ensuring cost optimization and ROI.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to enforce network security policies and implement advanced threat protection.
- Ensure proper configuration and monitoring of firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and segmentation.
- Participate in audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews to maintain regulatory adherence.
- Partner with CIO/CTO, application teams, and business units to support enterprise initiatives such as cloud migrations and modernization projects.
- Provide technical leadership and input for enterprise architecture committees and governance boards.
- Communicate network strategy, risks, and performance updates to executive leadership and stakeholders.
