Laundry Attendant

This position is a key member of the housekeeping team, focused on maintaining the cleanliness and availability of all hotel laundry. The Laundry Attendant performs essential duties such as operating washing machines and dryers, sorting soiled linens, and using a flat ironer to process finished items. The role requires a strong attention to detail and a commitment to following all departmental policies and safety rules.

• High School Diploma or equivalent and at least three months of housekeeping-related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have an aptitude for guest services and maintain a positive attitude.
• The ability to stand, bend, twist, lift in excess of 25 pounds, and push and pull laundry carts for the duration of a shift.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

• Washes linens and terry by placing soiled laundry in the washing machine and using the proper wash formula.
• Dries laundry using a dryer or extractor, setting the appropriate dials, and unloading the machine when the cycle is complete.
• Operates the flat ironer by feeding clean sheets and other articles into the machine, folding them as they come out, and placing them on the appropriate table or cart.
• Sorts soiled laundry into appropriate piles based on type and soil level.
• Helps keep the laundry facility and equipment clean and reports any mechanical problems to the laundry supervisor.
• Follows all safety rules and departmental policies.
