We are currently looking for a Full Time Primary Care Clinic Triage RN to join our Area of Satellite Clinics Nursing team located at the Purcell Health Clinic.
Summary:
Triages patient walk-ins and phone calls in an independent and interdependent role in collaboration with a licensed provider and directs them appropriately.
Responsibilities:
* Assures patient safety and improves quality of care by using sound professional clinical judgment and the nursing process to assess patients both in person and over the phone
* Recognizes and anticipates common changes in the physical, biopsychosocial and health needs of all ages of patients
* Performs assessments on patients experiencing urgent, emergent, or non-emergent conditions
- Assesses physical needs of all ages of patients
- Assesses bio-psychosocial needs of all ages of patients
- Assesses health education needs of all ages of patients
* Provides and advocates age and culturally appropriate, holistic patient care based upon facility mission statements and as outlined in policies and procedures
* Develops and maintains care planning for patients and reviews the care plan for assigned patients
* Advocates and participates in patient and patient family education i.e., diagnosis, medications and discharge instructions
* Coordinates services a patient receives to include, but is not limited to, shared care planning, medication reconciliation, patient support and health education, and screening and tracking outcomes
* Calculates and safely administers all prescribed medications according to nursing standards and facility policy and protocols
* Assists with orientation, special activities and training on specific procedures, tasks or equipment
* Participates in meetings to ensure effective communication with staff, peers, supervisors and management
* Participates in performance improvement activities to measure, assess and improve the quality of assigned work area
* Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types

- Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics
- Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards
* Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.
* Performs all other duties as assigned

* Able to follow instructions, both written and oral

* Able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines
* Possess basic knowledge of medical terminology
* Learn and apply Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Privacy Act, Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA), Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA), Freedom of Information Act, Compliance Standards, Joint Commission Accreditation, and other various regulations
* Ability to proofread for spelling, grammar, and formatting errors and make appropriate modifications
* Knowledge of relevant privacy regulations such as The Privacy Act, Freedom of Information Act and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
* Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management
* Communicates clinical information to patient in emergent or urgent settings
* Maintains clear and complete employee health records
Skills:
Essential:
* Basic Computer skills
* Medication administration
* Intermediate skill using Microsoft Office products
Experience:

* 2 years directly related experience
Education:
Essential:
* Bachelor's of Nursing
Essential:
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of nursing, or written plan to obtain within 4 years of hire
Credentials:
Essential:
* Pass general background check
* Basic Life Support (BLS)
* Unrestricted Oklahoma Registered Nurse License
* Must pass internal Medication Test
Essential:
* Multi-state licensure is required within 90 days of employment
