Job DescriptionPosition Summary:
As a Financial Analyst you will serve as a strategic finance partner to the worldwide leader of Visa’s VAS business, the global VAS Operations leader, and the various VAS finance teams that support our five business areas. This role requires interpersonal skills to cultivate partnerships across functions, regions, and teams, to drive thought leadership, and successfully enact all planning, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end reporting processes.
This role presents results and provides insights and analysis to business partners and executives. The ideal candidate has a background in financial analysis, preferably with a public company, and proven results collaborating with team members and supported functions.
- Supports the coordination, organization, and execution of quantitative and qualitative analyses. Examples of activities include traditional budgeting and forecasting, month-end close, enhanced financial / business reporting, business case development, pricing analysis, P&L generation, and business planning support.
- Supports business case development for key initiatives, ad hoc requests, and special projects.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with a broad base of key stakeholders (i.e., executives and staff) in the business and serves as a key point of contact for finance issues.
- Acquires and maintains a deep understanding of the strategies, priorities, and issues of the business.
- Applies overall analytical skills and experience to become a highly valued business partner.
- Identifies and implements changes that improve efficiency and effectiveness of operational decision making.
- Learn and understand Visa’s financial reporting systems: run data queries, build financial architecture, and support finance technology initiatives.
- Builds near and long-term views for growth that align with business strategy and data.
- 2 years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree in finance, engineering, accounting, mathematics, economics, statistics or related quantitative field or an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD). Preferred
- At least 2 years of relevant financial analysis work experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking or management consulting.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel, strong skills in PowerPoint, and experience in business intelligence platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- MBA is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding analytical and quantitative skills, ability to resolve tough business problems with well-structured analyses.
- Ability to cultivate effective relationships and communicate effectively cross-functionally and with all levels of management.
- Proven expertise in modeling techniques and managing large data sets.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment with changing priorities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy are extremely critical.
- Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams and produce time sensitive deliverables.
- Strong curiosity to connect the dots and tell the story through the financials.
- Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
- Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
