Job Description

As a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst with OMES you will enjoy:

Job Details
  • Full-time 40-hour work weeks.
  • Support the Central Accounting and Reporting team
  • Salary up to: $85,000 based on education and experience
Responsibilities
  • Contributes to the preparation of the State’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.
  • Reviews pronouncements of authoritative bodies such as GASB, prepares responses to requests for comment and survey information, and works with the Financial Reporting Manager to determine the applicability of such issues to the State's financial reporting and accounting systems.
  • Assists Financial Reporting Manager with statewide implementation plans for GASB pronouncements and state and federal legislation impacting financial reporting requirements.
  • Instructs and assists agencies with the completion of GAAP conversion packages.
  • Revises and updates state agency conversion packages annually, as needed.
  • Serves as the secondary contact for the State Auditor & Inspector agency personnel relating to their audit of the ACFR.
  • Contributes to the review and analysis of the State's accounting policies and procedure and makes recommendations for appropriate changes.
  • Leads the completion of alternative system compliance reviews.
  • Interpret and analyze financial information posted to general ledger accounts.
  • Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
  • Ad hoc projects, analyses, and reporting as assigned
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually mild.
  • This position requires hand and finger dexterity, sitting, standing, bending, crouching, reaching, pushing/pulling/lifting up to 25 pounds, visual inspection, climbing stairs.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Candidates must be a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Public Accountant candidate, with at least three (3) years experience in an accounting or financial reporting environment.
Preference will be given to candidates who possess
  • Governmental accounting experience and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles for governments.
  • Experience working with general ledger and ERP systems.
