SMC has an equity investment in and operates Double E Pipeline, LLC—a natural gas transmission line that transports from the Delaware Basin to delivery points around the Waha Hub in Texas.

The Senior Health & Safety Specialist assists in developing and implementing safety and health programs that comply with all applicable regulations and company policies.

• Develop and implement safety programs and procedures complying with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Serve as a safety subject‑matter expert for assigned geographic area.
• Analyze, summarize, and report H&S data.
• Prepare, implement, and review H&S manuals, programs, procedures, and standards.
• Plan and conduct emergency response drills and exercises.
• Provide updates and recommendations to management.
• Maintain daily field presence; support operations, conduct inspections, and train staff.
• Communicate effectively with employees, contractors, management, and regulatory agencies.
• Coordinate internal audits and agency inspections.
• Implement safety or compliance measures for new regulations or procedures.
• Train operational personnel.
• Lead or assist incident investigations to determine root cause and corrective action.
• Develop corrective actions to resolve issues and eliminate hazards.
• Support JHA development for routine and non‑routine tasks.
• Develop and implement departmental goals and initiatives.
• Mentor less experienced safety specialists.
• Conduct interactive monthly safety meetings.

• BS degree in Occupational Safety and Health, or an equivalent degree.
• Alternatively, 8 years of oil and gas operations experience with involvement in H&S programs.

• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations; DOT experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with PSM and RMP regulations is a plus.
• Effective interaction with field/office staff, governmental agencies, third parties, and contractors.
• High technical knowledge and innovative problem‑solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• Successful completion of drug screen, background check, and respirator fit test.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong initiative and ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
