Location: Noble
* Prefer college degree in Maritime Deck Transportation or equivalent
* Require Unlimited/Unrestricted Master (STCW II/2) license
* Experience in marine environmental and hazardous material regulations and procedures
* Broad experience in offshore marine and drilling operations
* For positions on DP vessels, requires Unlimited DPO certificate from recognized authority and experience operating multiple types of dynamic positioning systems.
Command experience as a vessel’s Master on unlimited tonnage vessels
Excellent leadership, communication and management skills
Computer skills in information systems and computer control consoles
Experience in the use of on board stability programs
Directly responsible for the overall safety of the vessel. Fulfill the roles and responsibilities of the PIC.Maneuver and position the vessel onto the well location defined by the client.
Manage and schedule vessel surveys and the statutory certification process to ensure compliance to classification society requirements and maritime regulations.
Maintain replacement Environmental Tags and used Environmental Tags as set forth in Noble Policy in a secure location aboard the vessel and shall inspect each damaged Environmental Tag number to ensure Environmental Tags having identical numbers are never used. An inventory of the unused Environmental Tags shall be a required component of the OIM’s handover notes.
Ensure that every crew member has received appropriate environmental training pursuant company policy to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations, EMS and other maritime pollution prevention requirements and that the proper records of all training on environmental matters are maintained.
Encourage and motivate personnel to observe safety and environmental policies and all intended and implied requirements of the SMS.Support Noble’s personnel development programs and strategies. Personnel at all levels should be continually encouraged to improve their job skills working toward the capability of accepting greater responsibility, be provided with training opportunities in adherence with Noble’s PATH program guidelines, and receive annual performance assessments.
Ensure the roles, responsibilities, accountabilities, and performance measures of direct reports are defined, understood, and enforced.
* Write and/or approve required reporting on vessel operations, personnel, equipment status, material status, and supplies.
* Order needed marine-related supplies, parts and materials, anticipating and requisitioning each needed item ensuring items are on hand when needed.
* Participate in preparing the annual operating budget for the vessel.
* Other duties as assigned by management.
Become familiar with each new shore base’s local labor and/or union situation, hospital and medical facilities, health requirements or hazards, food and fuel availability, general politics, social customs, local laws and immigration regulations prior to the arrival of the vessel in any new area of operation. Ensure that all personnel assigned to the vessel are advised of pertinent information.
