Position: ESY Special Education Teacher

Reports To: Director of Student Programs

• Special Education Certification.
• Meet all certification requirements for Oklahoma, including teaching area endorsement.
• Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

To provide Special Education Services for students who meet the criteria for Extended School Year.

• Follows the procedures, practices and guidelines outlined by the school, district, State and Federal laws intended to keep students healthy and safe.
• Provide services as outlined on the student’s Individualized Education Plan.
• Prepares materials and equipment prior to the start of the class.
• Plans consistently to address student diverse learning needs.
• Plans with other members of the team.
• Establishes a classroom climate where students are engaged and expectations are clear.
• Engages students in active learning and uses a variety of strategies to support learning.
• Prepares Progress Reports at the end of ESY and enters all information relative to the student on EdPlan.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
