Overview
MRG Exams West, a wholly owned subsidiary of MRG Exams, is looking for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Provider to perform medical assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process.
This is NOT a treating role. The provider will review medical health records through a secure Web Portal and perform comprehensive assessments on each veteran. The provider will also complete Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQ's) through the Web Portal. DBQ's are condition-specific forms created by the VA. Through the DBQ's, the provider will document exam findings needed by the VA. The VA makes all disability determinations.
This position will review and assess 3 Veterans per day on average and is scheduled for Monday, Wednesday, Friday.
Responsibilities- Review medical health records through a secure Web Portal and perform comprehensive assessments on each veteran.
- Complete Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQ's) through the Web Portal and document exam findings needed by the VA.
- Note:
The provider will NOT make disability determinations; the VA makes all disability determinations. - Perform Independent Medical Assessments (IMAs) as part of an independent medical assessments role focused on medical fact finding & investigation, rather than traditional patient care & treatment.
- Spend at least 50% of the day reviewing medical records and electronically documenting exam findings.
- Proficient at finding key data points within large electronic medical records.
- Able to analyze data from medical records and exam findings to complete DBQ's and form medical opinions.
- Typing skills are essential.
- Skilled at time management, able to stay on task and meet requirements.
- DBQ's must be submitted within 24 hours after an exam.
- Interested in serving Veterans in their community.
- Must hold a current license as a Physiatrist.
- Must be Board Certified in either Neurological Surgery, PM&R or Psychiatry and Neurology.
