General Summary
Under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, this position is considered safety sensitive. Safety-sensitive is defined as a job that includes operation of a motor vehicle.
Essential Job Functions- Plans, directs and monitors public relations programs designed to create and maintain a favorable public image for the employer and client.
- Builds strong business relationships with community leaders, area land developers, key business partners and prospects for new businesses in the community to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and increase market share and revenue growth by selling products and services. This includes evaluating customer needs and proposing solutions using the Pioneer product line.
- Maximizes non‑paid advertising efforts of company products, services, programs, events and achievements and distributes press clippings from all lines of business to management on a timely basis.
- Publicizes special events, relevant news or activities and recognizes and promotes key customers in the community through social media and other digital outlets.
- Directs, oversees and schedules Marketing Associate – Public Relations position, if applicable.
- Monitors and evaluates the public image through various communication outlets such as Facebook, Instagram, etc. and responds or escalates accordingly.
- Recruit team members to assist with community events.
- Coordinates with other departments on special projects and communicates the urgency to ensure a positive public perception.
- Maintains membership and active involvement in at least one local civic club or organization and participates in most professional networking opportunities in the community.
- Assists in planning and coordinating annual Customer Appreciation efforts.
- Coordinates and distributes community cash and in‑kind donations with budget guidelines.
- Develops and maintains positive working relationships within the division and other departments.
- Commits to performing job duties in a manner that ensures a safe work environment.
- Promotes Operation IDEA initiatives, encourages and supports continual process improvement and cultivates an environment where employees are actively engaged in creating positive and memorable customer experiences.
- Willingly and cooperatively performs other related duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three years related experience and/or training.
- Must maintain a good driving record and a valid driver license.
Skills and Abilities
- Exceptional working knowledge of public relations business operations and general management principles and practices.
- Thorough knowledge of principles of effective communications and mass media, publicity, advertising, policies, education, community relations, organization structure and government relations, as they relate to the company.
- Strong knowledge of company products/services, policies and procedures.
- Strong verbal, written and listening communications skills and proficient in public speaking.
- Proficient in operating a personal computer and software applications pertaining to job function.
- Skill in prioritizing, completing multiple projects, identifying problems and finding resolutions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working and public relations.
- Ability to plan, organize and effectively present ideas and concepts to groups.
- Ability to assimilate and analyze information from a variety of sources and recommend courses of action to be taken.
- Ability to communicate with customers, coworkers and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to perform under pressure, meet deadlines, handle stressful situations in a professional, courteous manner and achieve optimum results.
- Maintain strict confidentiality guidelines in accordance with company policy.
- Ability to read and interpret various formats of English language instruction.
- Able and willing to continue business skill development.
- Sitting or standing for extended periods, walking, finger dexterity, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity including close vision.
- Occasionally may be required to lift up to 20 lbs.
- May be required occasionally to stoop, kneel or bend.
- Ability to drive for extended periods.
- Must be able to work extended hours, weekends and holidays.
