I.

Job Summary

Safely operates a heavy‑duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes.

II.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate vehicle in accordance with OSHA, DOT, and all local, state, and federal requirements and company expectations for the fleet; maintain a clean and safe vehicle.
  • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections using standard DVIR; note all issues for corrective review/repair.
  • Immediately report any unsafe situations or service calls to Operations Manager or Dispatch before attempting service.
  • Participate and cooperate in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by Operations Manager.
  • Work closely with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problems or unsafe accounts.
  • Perform all duties as scheduled by Operations Manager or Dispatch, assisting other company drivers as directed.
  • Notify Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
  • Notify Dispatch or Operations Manager of issues as prescribed by Service Machine protocol, including blocked containers, potential missed pick‑ups, or problems that arise on the route.
  • Communicate customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Operations Manager.
  • Fully dump all containers and leave the customer’s location clean and free of debris.
  • Complete and submit customer tickets when excess yardage must be removed.
  • Position containers on the customer’s property so that lids are properly replaced, containers are upright, and do not block driveway entrances or traffic.
  • Follow route assignments throughout the day and complete all documentation when checking in at the end of the route.

IV. Qualifications
  • Education and Experience

    • No education or prior work experience required.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

    • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B required; applicant must be 18 years of age or older.

    • Successfully complete pre‑employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check, including motor vehicle record review.

    • Acceptable driving record required.
