Heavy Equipment Operator

Silver Star Construction, a local road construction company, is seeking Heavy Equipment Operators to drive/operate and control large equipment and vehicles including bulldozers, backhoes, front-end loaders, scraper/tractor pans, track hoes, motor graders, mixers, and water trucks.

• Operate and control heavy equipment such as grader, dozer, scraper, track hoe, mixer, and front-end loader.
• Unload equipment from vehicles and ensure proper positioning for operation.
• Understand and adjust machine settings as required.
• Maintain equipment functionality and perform preemptive maintenance to prevent malfunctions.
• Keep performance records of machine functionality and inspections (pre-trip and post-trip).
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections/evaluations of equipment.

• Skilled heavy equipment operators with verifiable experience operating some or all of the following:
  Grader, Dozer, Scraper, Track hoe, Mixer, Front-end Loader.
• Ability to unload equipment from vehicles and ensure safe operation.
• Good knowledge of machine settings and safe operation.
• Physical ability to work in a strenuous environment and strength to operate heavy equipment.
• Strong hand–eye coordination and good communication skills (oral and written).
• Ability to work as part of a team and make decisions to prevent accidents and property damage.
• Ability to perform tasks such as bending, standing, crouching, and shoveling as required; willingness to work outdoors in extreme temperatures; ability to work nights, weekends, and overtime when necessary.
