Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic
Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC, North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group, is looking for a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic. The role performs heavy‑duty mechanical repair under general supervision, undergoing on‑the‑job training to reach Service Journeyman status.
Responsibilities- Performs and/or assists with general mechanical duties.
- Gains experience on engine overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune‑up and general maintenance.
- Works on major components with close supervision.
- Troubleshoots minor problems.
- Attends training sessions and meetings.
- Maintains a neat and orderly working area and proper handling of company tools.
- Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
- Follows safe work practices and procedures, uses safety equipment when required, seeks assistance when necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
This position is safety‑sensitive. Any person performing the position while under the influence of marijuana or any illegal drug may constitute a threat to health or safety. The job involves operating, repairing, maintaining, or monitoring heavy equipment, machinery, aircraft, motorized watercraft, or motor vehicles and handling hazardous materials and waste.
Qualifications- CDL preferred.
- Minimum three years hands‑on experience or graduate of vocational courses.
- A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector certifications required.
