Compensation: Up to $34.05 an hour based on education and experience. Annual pay ranges from $58,020.00 to $70,840.00.
The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry (ODAFF) is seeking a full-time Made in Oklahoma Coordinator in the Market Development Division. This position (PIN #) is in state government and will work throughout Oklahoma.
ResponsibilitiesIn this position, responsibilities involve planning, promotion, and monitoring marketing programs that benefit the sale of Oklahoma agricultural products. Activities include opening and expanding markets for growers, producers, and processors, and other related educational functions.
Typical Functions- Manage membership recruitment, database, and communications for the Made in Oklahoma Program.
- Assist with planning and execution of division events including the Made in Oklahoma store at the Oklahoma State Fair.
- Work with the Board of the Made in Oklahoma Coalition to plan and execute member activities, maintain membership records, manage contractors and projects, and prepare a budget and strategic plan each year.
II – Employees assigned duties at the full performance level for agricultural promotional and marketing activities.
III – Employees assigned responsibilities for advanced planning, organizing, and implementing multiple or complex marketing programs, and may lead other coordinators.
Education and Experience- Level II: Bachelor’s degree in agriculture + one year of qualifying experience (or equivalent). Experience in marketing agricultural commodities or value-added processed products can substitute.
- Level III: Bachelor’s degree in agriculture + two years of qualifying experience (or equivalent). Experience in marketing agricultural commodities or value-added processed products can substitute.
- Knowledge of Oklahoma agricultural industry, advertising principles, promotional activities, and effective public relations.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships, follow instructions, exercise independent judgment, express ideas clearly and concisely, conduct multiple projects simultaneously, and evaluate information and alternatives.
- For Level III, additional knowledge of business administration, domestic and international marketing strategies, program evaluation, and comprehensive marketing plans.
Field-based with frequent in-state travel. Event setup may involve heavy lifting. Occasional outdoor work, nights, weekends, and long hours.
