Under general supervision, patrols assigned territory to protect patrons and property. This will be an outside position in our Service Lot and employee will be working in various degrees of temperatures.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Stand guard during events and periodically tour post to ensure safety of patrons, staff, vendors and participants.
- Handle any disturbances or problems that arise during the event or at the facility, escorting disruptive individuals to the security office or off the premises as necessary.
- Write incident reports and meet with security supervisor to review procedures.
- Inspect alarms, fire extinguishers/sprinkler systems, and premises for signs of intrusion or tampering; ensure doors, windows, and gates are secure.
- Assist with crowd control inside and outside of premises and control unusual circumstances during emergencies.
- Respond immediately to emergency situations—answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
- Assist departments such as Box Office when handling large sums of money.
- Act professionally with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others encountered in the course of employment.
- Document shipping and receiving as needed.
- Keep record of keys, radios, and other facility equipment.
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance and wear the assigned uniform.
- Arrive on time and complete shift assignments, including overtime when needed.
- Be courteous, respectful, responsive to the public, customers, and guards.
- Project a positive and confident professional image, provide customer service at the highest level, and uphold business ethics.
- Other duties as assigned.
This position has limited supervisory responsibilities and may include temporary assignments in accordance with ASM's policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications Education/Experience- Must be 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Preferred: previous experience in a security role.
- Ability to communicate effectively and prepare, maintain, and analyze records and reports.
- Cooperative, analytical, decision‑making, negotiation, mediation, and listening skills.
- Handle conflicts and make appropriate decisions during high‑tension situations.
- Knowledge of security and safety guidelines and related laws.
- Knowledge of security technology (CCTV, door access systems).
- Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Meet physical requirements of the position.
- Certifications:
CLEET within six months of hire; valid driver license and insurance.
- Long hours in sitting, walking, or standing.
- Occasional lifting/pushing/pulling up to 25 lbs; rarely up to 50 lbs.
- Operate security equipment; use hands to handle keys and open doors.
- Reach with hands and arms; climb or kneel as needed.
- Visual acuity required for monitoring screens.
- Exposure to moderate to extreme noises.
- Proficient with computers, security monitors, Windows, and Microsoft Office.
- Travel negligible.
- Shifts vary; required to work any scheduled shift.
- Work extended or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
