Overview

The Rare Disease Pharmaceutical Sales Representative will be responsible for driving sales in the assigned territory by demonstrating in-depth knowledge of the rare disease marketplace, therapeutic landscape, and product information (including mechanism of action, indication, efficacy, safety). This role requires building strong professional relationships with physicians, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to identify patient needs and support appropriate treatment decisions, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and client policies.

What you’ll be doing
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of the rare disease marketplace, therapeutic landscape, and product information to deliver clear, concise, and accurate communications to target audiences.
  • Understand and apply healthcare industry knowledge, trends, applicable laws and regulations, and market conditions; develop business plans and execute daily activities within compliance guidelines.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with physicians/HCPs, office staff, and others in the patient care continuum.
  • Ask strategic, insightful questions to understand customer needs and help offices identify appropriate patients.
  • Demonstrate account management skills (e.g., account planning, field resource coordination, customer education, promotion, reporting).
  • Work independently and in teams; foster collaboration and communicate progress and best practices with cross-functional teams.
  • Verify and complete required CRM data entry according to client policies and procedures.
  • Conduct in-service meetings with HCPs to educate on the product and disease state, including documenting related activities per policy.
  • Organize and manage speaker programs, obtain required sponsorship approvals, and participate in conferences in accordance with company policies.
  • Manage daily sales call activities to optimize time and maximize sales objectives.
  • Comply with all pertinent company policies and training.
What you need for this position
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience
  • Documented history of success
  • Specialty sales experience is highly preferred
  • Rare disease experience is preferred
  • Team-based or collaborative selling
  • Ability to travel overnight if required
