Retail Sales Associate

Overview

We are seeking entry-level, full-time Sales Associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the store team to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. The role includes greeting, engaging with customers, processing sales and loans, and handling inquiries with a focus on delivering a positive and memorable customer experience.

The position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity. The successful candidate’s actual pay will depend on factors such as location, qualifications, and experience.

Full-Time Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate responsibilities include interacting with customers to develop relationships, processing financial transactions (sales and loans) in accordance with policies, and maintaining a clean and organized sales floor. The role may involve working with a wide variety of merchandise, including tools, electronics, jewelry, and other items in a pawn store setting.

• Greet and interact with customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
• Perform non-management open/close procedures.
• Keep the sales floor clean, stocked, and merchandise displayed.
• Conduct sales and loan transactions following established policies and regulatory requirements.
• Handle cash and negotiable items per policies.
• Answer incoming calls per company standards.
• Explain the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and managers; foster a positive team environment.
• Partner with staff to create a positive customer experience.
• Complete required training successfully.
• Other related duties as assigned.

• Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and perform duties for extended periods; flexibility for location and schedule per business needs.
• Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified (as applicable).
• Ability to work outside in parking lot or exterior areas as needed.
• Minimum Age: 18 years;
  High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to serve customers, be team-oriented, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math proficiency and cash handling experience preferred.
• Ability to work at multiple locations as needed; flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Computer literacy and ability to operate POS systems.

• Commission incentive: pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2-8% commission based on personal gross profit; details discussed during interview.
