Blue Pearl Pet Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK, is hiring an exceptional Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery Team.

Blue Pearl Surgery Technician is responsible for post-operative client communication and must work independently while contributing to a larger team goal. Prefer to have a minimum of two or more years of experience in a veterinary hospital. A rotating on call schedule is required once training has been completed.
As a Surgery Veterinary Technician, You Will
- Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
- Monitor anesthesia.
- Scrub into surgeries for orthopedic and soft tissue procedures.
- Utilize ability to place peripheral intravenous catheter in cephalic vein.
- Perform physical exam; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
- Understand normal vital parameters and alert doctor when abnormal.
- Able to set up intravenous fluids.
- Administer subcutaneous fluids.
- Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors.
- Able to disconnect and connect patient from intravenous fluids aseptically.
- Monitor patient response to fluid therapy including signs of overload.
