Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Surgical/Transplant unit position requiring acute care surgical floor experience and stepdown/PCU experience, with a preference for transplant experience.

Job Details

• Works on a mixed med/surg and stepdown (PCU) Surgical/Transplant unit in a hospital setting,

• Patient population includes post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients as well as pre-transplant inpatients being evaluated for transplantation,

• Patients require close monitoring for infection, rejection, and timely medication delivery,

• Nurses may be assigned to either the med/surg or stepdown side of the unit depending on staffing and acuity,

• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week),

• OR and PACU candidates will not be considered for this role,

Job Requirements

• Active OK RN license or a current multistate compact (eNLC) RN license required,

• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required - all certifications must be AHA-issued,

• Minimum of 1 year of acute care surgical floor nursing experience required,

• Stepdown/PCU experience required,

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred,

• ENT and/or transplant experience preferred,

• Preceptor and charge nurse experience preferred,

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible,

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, documenting patient responses, assisting physicians, and delegating tasks to support staff,

• Educates patients and families on care plans and hospital procedures, and makes referrals to appropriate personnel as needed,

• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible to apply for another contract (after reaching a maximum of 26 weeks total),

• Compliance requirements are strictly enforced - candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon accepting an offer
