American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU (Stepdown) position requiring a minimum of 1 year of ICU experience and Level I trauma experience, working night shifts in a hospital setting.
Details- Work in a Pediatric ICU Stepdown unit within a hospital setting
- Patient population includes pediatric patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
- Night shift schedule
- 36 hours per week, three 12-hour shifts
- Level I trauma center experience required
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
- Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Pediatric ICU experience required
- Level I trauma center experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Proficiency in professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills required
- Full date of birth required for consideration
- Responsibilities include assuming care for an assigned group of pediatric patients, documenting patient responses to nursing interventions, administering medications, and monitoring physiological data
- Initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
- Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Educates patients and families on care plans and hospital procedures, and makes referrals to appropriate personnel as needed
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may only extend once for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before applying for a subsequent contract
- Compliance with onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, medical requirements) must be completed promptly after booking; start dates will not be adjusted for non-compliance
