Job Details:

• Work on a medical/surgical unit providing nursing care to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex

• Must have acute care surgical floor experience (OR candidates will not be accepted)

• Stepdown/PCU experience required

• ENT and/or Transplant experience preferred

• Work on 4W Surgical Transplant unit - a mixed stepdown and acute care floor

• Care for post-surgical kidney, liver and pancreas transplant patients

• Care for pre-transplant patients being evaluated during inpatient stay

• Provide close monitoring for infection, rejection, and timely medication delivery

• Work either medical/surgical or stepdown patients based on nurse availability and patient acuity

• Assume responsibility for assigned group of patients

• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments

• Assist physicians in examination of patients and minor diagnostic procedures

• Obtain and monitor physiological data, observe patient manifestations and intervene when necessary

• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor IV infusions and blood products

• Interact with families and patients regarding care plans and discharge planning

• Delegate tasks to support staff

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required

• Associate's Degree in Nursing from accredited program required

• Current Oklahoma RN License or multistate compact RN License (eNLC) required

• Current Basic Life Support certification from American Heart Association required

• Strong verbal and written communication skills needed

• Computer skills required

• Preceptor and charge experience preferred
