American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Post Surgical Unit position requiring acute care surgical floor experience and Stepdown/PCU experience, with night shifts in an inpatient hospital setting.
Details- Inpatient post-surgical unit within an acute care hospital setting
- Cares for pre- and post-operative patients with conditions including new drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, NGT, and DHT
- Patient population includes both surgical and stepdown/PCU-level patients
- Patient ratios are 5:1 for surgical patients and 3:1 for stepdown patients
- ENT and/or transplant experience preferred
- Night shift, 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts (36 hours per week)
- 13-week contract
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact (eNLC) RN license required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Acute care surgical floor experience required
- Stepdown/PCU experience required
- OR (operating room) candidates will not be considered
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Responsibilities include assuming care for an assigned patient group, monitoring physiological data, administering medications, managing IV infusions and blood products, documenting patient responses, and coordinating discharge planning
- Collaborates with physicians during patient exams and minor diagnostic procedures, and delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
- BSN from a Board-approved program is preferred
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility may apply but must have a 6-month separation period after completing 26 cumulative weeks (one contract plus one extension) before being eligible for a new contract
- Compliance with onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, and medical requirements) must be completed promptly after acceptance; the facility does not negotiate start dates based on compliance delays
