American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Post Surgical Unit position requiring acute care surgical floor experience and Stepdown/PCU experience, with night shift availability.
Details- Post Surgical Unit (4E) in an acute care hospital setting
- Patient population includes pre- and post-operative surgical patients, including some step-down level care
- Experience caring for patients with new drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, NGTs, and DHTs is essential to this role
- Patient ratios are 5:1 for surgical patients and 3:1 for step-down patients
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- 13-week contract
- Active OK state RN license or current multistate compact (eNLC) RN license required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — AHA certifications only accepted
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Acute care surgical floor experience required
- Stepdown/PCU experience required
- OR-only candidates will not be considered
- ADN from an accredited nursing program required; BSN preferred
- ENT and/or transplant experience preferred
- Full DOB and full SSN required for consideration
- Responsibilities include monitoring and documenting patient responses to nursing interventions, administering medications, managing IV infusions and blood products, assisting with procedures, and coordinating discharge planning
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible to apply for a new contract (prior contracts may only be extended once, for a maximum total of 26 weeks)
