American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Nephrology/Med-Surg Telemetry unit position requiring a minimum of one year of nursing experience and an active OK or compact RN license.

Job Details

• Work in a hospital Medicine/Nephrology unit,

• Patient population includes a variety of medical patients with simple to complex health needs, including nephrology patients requiring dialysis site care,

• Night shift schedule,

• 36 hours per week, three 12-hour shifts,

• Familiarity with central line care and management, Foley care and management, and end-of-life care is expected,

• Knowledge of proper dialysis site care is required, including understanding not to use HD catheters or access fistulas for blood draws,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC),

• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required - all certifications must be AHA-issued,

• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required,

• Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required,

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred,

• Charge nurse experience is a strong plus,

• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position,

• Full date of birth (DOB) required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assuming care for an assigned group of patients, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and documenting patient responses to nursing interventions,

• Collaborates with physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures, and makes referrals to appropriate personnel as needed,

• Communicates care plans and hospital procedures with patients and families, including at time of discharge,

• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate,

• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a new contract; travelers may only extend once for a total of 26 weeks unless otherwise agreed upon,

• BSN is preferred but not required,
