American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Nephrology/Med-Surg Tele night shift position requiring at least one year of nursing experience and Med/Surg or Stepdown background.

Job Details

• Work setting is a hospital Medicine/Nephrology inpatient unit,

• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week),

• 13-week contract,

• Patient population includes nephrology, Med/Surg, and stepdown-level patients with conditions ranging from simple to complex,

• Requires familiarity with central line care and management, foley care and management, and end-of-life care,

• Nephrology-specific care includes proper management of dialysis access sites (e.g., HD catheters and fistula precautions for blood draws),

Job Requirements

• Active OK RN license or a current multistate Compact (eNLC) RN license required,

• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required - all certifications must be AHA-issued,

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred,

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required,

• Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required,

• Charge nurse experience is a strong plus,

• Proficiency in central line care, foley catheter care, and end-of-life care,

• Knowledge of dialysis access site care (proper handling of HD catheters and fistulas),

• Strong verbal and written communication skills,

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility - local candidates are not eligible,

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assuming care for an assigned patient group, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and delegating tasks to support staff,

• Responsible for documenting patient responses to nursing interventions and changes in physician orders,

• Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members on care planning and discharge education,

• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may only extend once, for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before returning for another contract,

• This facility has strict compliance deadlines - candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding (drug screen, background check, and medical requirements) immediately upon acceptance of an offer,
