Job Details:

• Provide nursing care for stroke, neurology, orthopedic, and spine patients

• Work as part of a comprehensive stroke center with patient ratios of 3:1 for step-down patients and 5:1 for all other patients

• Stroke experience and NIHSS certification preferred

• Must be willing to precept new staff and work in virtual room when needed

• Assume responsibility for assigned group of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex

• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments

• Assist physicians in examinations and minor diagnostic procedures

• Monitor physiological data and intervene when necessary

• Administer medications as prescribed

• Initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products

• Interact with patients and families regarding care plans and discharge instructions

• Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required

• Associate's Degree in Nursing from accredited program required

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred

• Current Oklahoma RN License or multistate compact RN License required

• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association required

• Strong verbal and written communication skills needed

• Basic computer skills required
