Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Adult Emergency Department position requiring an OK or compact RN license and current AHA certifications.
Responsibilities
• Position is in the Adult Emergency Department within a hospital setting
• Care provided to a diverse adult patient population with a range of health issues from simple to complex
• Three 12-hour day shifts per week with weekend requirements
• Assignment length is 13 weeks
• No local candidates accepted due to a 50-mile radius requirement
• Responsibilities include administering medication, monitoring patients, assisting with diagnostic procedures, and implementing physician orders
• Interact with patients and families to share care plans and provide discharge education
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• A six-month break is required for returning employees after working a total of 26 weeks on assignment
• Holiday and weekend work is expected as per department needs
Requirements
• Active RN license issued by Oklahoma or a valid compact RN license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Minimum of one year of RN experience required in an Emergency Department setting
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services
• Some computer skills and strong communication abilities needed
