Shift: 3 days per week
Responsibilities- Establish guidelines to identify the professional qualifications and skill required for employment in the pre-operative area.
- Formulate and execute the nursing care for patients of all ages in the Pre-Op area to ensure the highest quality of care and patient safety according to policy and procedure.
- Initiate and execute all other tasks as requested by the Chief Nursing Officer.
- Prepares pre-operative for patient admission according to Hospital policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates knowledge of drug usage, their actions and side effects, interaction with anesthesia agents and expected patient outcomes.
- Recognizes emergency situations, responds quickly and efficiently following policy and procedure, ACLS, PALS, physician orders or emergency plan to prevent adverse patient outcomes.
- Maintains knowledge and adheres to policies/procedures and care standards for Pre-operative care.
- Ensures patient meets admit requirements before patient goes for surgery.
- Documents assessments, interventions and patient outcomes according to policy and procedure and Hospital standards.
- Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and competence of designated skills identified for the position.
- Performs nursing duties during procedures related to pain management using current nursing standards and Hospital standards.
- Completes all documentation in Cerner to ensure accurate and up-to-date information in accordance with established standards.
- Adheres to established Hospital safety requirements and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

- RN licensure from the Board of Nurse License for the State of Oklahoma
- BLS, if not current, certification within 90 days of hire
- ACLS / PALS required, if not current, training within 6 months of hire
- Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
- Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet needs of patients and unit
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written
