Our team at Community Hospital South is looking for an RN to help work as needed in the emergency room. ER nurses provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of the Hospital. In collaboration with the patient, the patient’s family and other members of the health care team, the ER RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and coordinates treatment plans.
ER nurses always work as a team member within the entire facility and will help performs other duties as assigned.
- Provides care to patients in the emergency room according to policy and procedure and care standards.
- Maintains knowledge of medications, equipment, expected patient outcomes, and anticipated complications.
- Coordinates patient care with multidisciplinary team.
- Acts to protect and advance patient’s best interest.
- Demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties outlined in this job description and continually demonstrates competency.
- Reports to:
Director of Nursing/ House Supervisor - Supervises: LPN, CNA, CTAs and Unit Secretaries
- Current Registered Nurse Licensure with the State of Oklahoma required.
- Minimum of one year experience in Med‑Surg, Emergency, or ICU preferred.
- BLS Healthcare required within 30 days of hire; ACLS and PALS required within 120 days of hire.
- Strength (Lift, Carry, Push, Pull):
Heavy (exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 lbs to 20 lbs of force constantly to move objects) - Standing/Walking:
Constantly; activity exists 2/3 or more of the time - Keyboard/Dexterity:
Occasionally; activity exists up to 1/3 of the time - Talking:
Must be able to effectively communicate verbally - Seeing:

- Level: High. High exposure to hazardous risks including potential for exposure to infections and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment and chemicals. Must follow standard precautions. May be required to work weekends or flex schedules. Travel may be required. Exposed to weather conditions during travel. Good mental and physical health to work for long periods of time in a highly stressful atmosphere is required.
