ResponsibilitiesAccepting New Grads and experienced Registered Nurses! The CCU/IU nurse monitors the overall hemodynamic status of critically ill patients, performing head-to-toe assessments, and managing all body systems, rhythms, invasive lines, tubes, and drains. They administer, titrate, and monitor critically ill patients on critical medications, many post-surgical requiring intense monitoring. Communication with physicians and surgeons about concerning status changes is essential.
CCU/IU nurses operate and are trained on advanced life-saving medical equipment including ventilators, intra-aortic balloon pumps, assistive heart pumps, dialysis machines, hypothermia devices, defibrillators, and others. Maintaining current BLS and ACLS certifications is required.
The RN functions in units called pods, allowing a 1:1 or 1:2 nurse-patient ratio in the Critical Care Department and 1:3 in the Interventional Unit, ensuring high-quality, safe, and patient-focused care. Patient rooms are fully stocked and arranged in a circular, pod layout to streamline care and save time.
Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in telemetry or related cardiac setting preferred
- Current Oklahoma RN licensure
- Current BLS certification at hire
- ACLS certification within 18 months of hire
