Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU night shift position requiring CVICU and Level I trauma experience.

• Position is in the Cardio Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a hospital
• Patient population includes critically ill pediatric cardiac patients
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, three days per week
• Requires experience in a Level I trauma setting
• Assignment length is 13 weeks
• Responsible for an assigned group of pediatric cardiac patients including monitoring, assessment, and documentation
• Administers prescribed medications and initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
• Assists physicians with examinations and minor procedures
• Coordinates care and communicates care plans with patients’ families
• 50-mile radius rule applies; local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible
• Must interact effectively with diverse populations and multidisciplinary teams

• Active OK or compact RN license required
• Minimum one year of relevant RN experience
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
• Demonstrated CVICU experience in a Level I trauma hospital required
• Must possess good verbal and written communication skills and some computer proficiency
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred but not required
