Travel Pediatric ICU Registered Nurse

A hospital in Oklahoma City, OK is seeking an experienced Pediatric ICU Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel contract supporting the Float Pool. This role involves caring for critically ill pediatric patients in a fast-paced Level I environment and floating as needed based on unit demands.

Assignment Details:

    Nights, 3x12-hour shifts
  • Hours:

    36 hours per week
  • Weekends and holidays required
  • Float Pool position (Level I experience required)
  • Weekly Pay: $2,848

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to pediatric ICU patients with conditions ranging from complex to high acuity
  • Assume responsibility for a designated group of patients and deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care
  • Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, responses to treatments, and changes in status
  • Administer medications, IV infusions, and blood products according to physician orders
  • Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and treatments
  • Initiate and manage IV lines, including continuous infusions
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding care plans and hospital procedures
  • Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary teams and delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, infection control practices, and hospital policies

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of pediatric ICU nursing experience
  • Level I ICU experience required
  • Active Oklahoma RN license or compact (eNLC) license
  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • PALS (American Heart Association)
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Ability to float within pediatric critical care settings

Education:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (required)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)
