Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring strong neuro, ortho, robotics, and liver transplant experience.
Responsibilities- Position is in the hospital Operating Room unit
- 1:1 patient ratio with surgical patient population
- Expected to work 3x12 hour day shifts, Friday through Sunday from 7am to 7pm
- On-call required one night per week from 7pm to 7am, including at least one Friday call and holiday on-call shifts
- Floating may be required within scope and to sister facilities
- No blocked scheduling allowed
- Charting is done using Epic EMR
- Unit has 16 staffed beds with an average daily census of 60 patients
- Duties include providing skilled perioperative nursing care for a range of complex surgical cases, including neuro, ortho, robotics, and liver transplant procedures
- Holiday on-call coverage is required, with shifts either 11am-11pm or 11pm-11am
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- RTO is limited to a maximum of 5 days for the contract and no holiday or blackout dates can be requested
- Expected to float within scope as needed to meet facility needs, including sister facilities
- Scrub color requirements or dress code details are not specified in this posting
- Active OK or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years of recent OR experience with specific neuro, ortho, robotics, and liver transplant cases required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- NRP certification preferred
- Must complete EKG/Dysrhythmia competency testing during onboarding
- Two professional references required
- Valid driver’s license or state-issued recent utility bill (within 3 months) with matching address required
- Permanent address must be more than 75 miles from the facility; local candidates within the radius are not accepted
- Previous permanent staff must be gone 1 year before being eligible for travel assignments
