Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PICU position requiring two years of pediatric critical care experience, current compact or OK RN license, and advanced certifications.
Responsibilities- Position is in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
- Patient population includes respiratory/viral illness, DKA, neurological cases, ENT surgery, reconstructive urology, ingestion, and sepsis
- Special procedures include deep sedation for lumbar puncture, PICC placement, and chest tube insertion
- Floating to sister facilities within scope may be required
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Required to float as needed to other units or affiliated facilities within the health system
- Responsibilities include care for critically ill pediatric patients requiring specialized procedures and monitoring
- No blocked scheduling is allowed
- No more than 5 days of requested time off will be accepted and no holidays or blackout dates can be requested
- Permanent staff must have been gone for at least 1 year before being eligible for travel assignments
- Scrub or dress code requirements not specified
- Active OK or compact state RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years of pediatric ICU experience required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
- Must provide valid driver's license or state-issued recent utility bill with matching address showing residence more than 75 miles from facility
- BLS, EKG/telemetry course, NIHSS, and ACLS must be completed prior to start date
- No local candidates within a 75-mile radius of the facility
- First-time travelers will not be considered
