Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in Oklahoma requiring a compact RN license and strong Med/Surg Tele experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting

• Patients include those needing cardiac monitoring, pacemakers, IV insulin protocols, and continuous bladder irrigation

• Three 12-hour day shifts per week, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM

• Charting is done using Epic EMR

• Floating may be required within the nurse's scope to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities

• RNs will provide specialized care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients including monitoring, medication administration, and managing cardiac and complex protocols

• No blocked scheduling requests will be accommodated

• No more than 5 days of requested time off will be accepted; holiday or blackout dates cannot be requested

• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position

• Permanent staff must have been separated from the associated health system for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment

• Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility

Requirements

• Active OK or compact RN license required at the time of consideration

• Minimum of 2 years Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required

• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and successful completion of an EKG course or telemetry test prior to start

• Experience with pacemakers, IV insulin protocols, and continuous bladder irrigation required

• Must provide a current and valid driver's license or state-issued , and a utility bill in the traveler's name with a matching address dated within the past three months; permanent address must be more than 75 miles from the facility

• Epic charting experience preferred
