Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medicine Step Down position requiring Med-Surg and stepdown experience, working rotating weekends and holidays.

• Work in a Medicine Step Down unit within a hospital setting
• Care for a diverse patient population with a range of health issues from simple to complex
• 36 hours per week on 12-hour day shifts
• Every other weekend and rotating holiday coverage required
• 13-week contract with a potential option to renew
• Provide comprehensive nursing care including monitoring physiological data, medication administration, and supporting minor diagnostic procedures
• Document patient responses and update care plans as needed
• Interact with patients and families to communicate care plans and discharge information
• Delegation of tasks to support staff as appropriate
• No local candidates permitted; must reside 50 miles or more from the facility
• Holiday and every other weekend shifts are mandatory for this role

• Active OK or compact RN license
• Minimum of 1 year of Med-Surg and stepdown experience
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA
