Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medicine Specialty Step Down position requiring an active OK or compact RN license and at least one year of experience.

• Work in the Medicine Specialty Step Down unit of a hospital
• Position is a 13-week contract with 12-hour day shifts, three days per week
• Care for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• No local candidates allowed within a 50-mile radius
• Responsible for an assigned group of patients, including administering medication and monitoring responses
• Assists physicians in patient exams and minor procedures
• Documents patient responses and changes in orders
• Coordinates care plans and communicates with patients and families
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• A six-month separation is required before reapplying after 26 weeks of assignment

• Active RN license from Oklahoma or a compact state
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required
• Minimum of one year of RN experience required
• Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
