Red River Community Corps-VISTA

Red River Community Corps’ mission is to improve the lives of Oklahomans through Ameri Corps service. The VISTA project seeks to build the organizational and financial capacity of Oklahoma non-profits by leveraging an estimated $10,000 and impacting approximately 20,000 beneficiaries. VISTA members will contribute to the goals of the project by performing activities such as recruiting and managing volunteers; creating volunteer recruitment tools;

helping build the financial capacity of community organizations by seeking resources though grants and donations; and helping sites formalize existing programs and services; managing marketing and communications strategies for donors and volunteer relations; identifying new areas for growth and developing strategies sites can implement for sustaining new and existing services.

Member Duties : Service activities will vary by site.

• Volunteer Recruitment VISTAs will build organizational capacity to recruit volunteers through specific activities such as writing volunteer training curriculum, developing volunteer screening protocols, creating volunteer recruitment tools, and devising and updating databases of volunteer contacts.
• Infrastructure Development VISTAs will formalize existing programs and services, identify new areas for growth, and develop strategies sites can implement for sustaining new and existing services.
• Marketing & Communications VISTAs will build the capacity of sites to formalize strong communications strategies including web design and social media marketing to strengthen stakeholder relationships.
• Resource Development VISTAs will build the financial capacity of community organizations by seeking resources though grants and donations.
