Description
This position will be responsible for the physical assembly and wiring of control panels. In conjunction with that, the Panel Assembler – Technician position will be required to power check, download programs, when necessary, along with the configuration of control panels in accordance with the manufacturing and or processing equipment that it will be controlling, to ensure proper operation. All duties must be performed in accordance with all company policies and procedures.
PrimaryResponsibilities and Job Functions
- Cuts, terminates, and labels wires using work instructions.
- Cuts wire way, covers and din rail to length using samples and work instructions.
- Creates wire labels and component labels from computers.
- Manufacturer’s small parts assembly.
- Completes traveler paperwork.
- Meet customer’s product quality requirements. Report on any product quality issues.
- The Panel Assembler – Technician is responsible for adherence to UL508a Standards.
- Apply power, connect Single Phase or 3 Phase power to panels to test for shorts or miswiring.
- Load programs into HMI’s and Plc’s as required.
- Configure all electrical components according to the electrical schematics and spec sheets of the equipment.
- Offer innovative ideas and methods to achieve Continual Improvement.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
- Maintain a high-level workplace organization.
- Perform any related functions as required.
- They must have the ability to read electrical schematics and have knowledge of UL508a.
- They must pay attention to details with a clear focus and a fervent desire to succeed.
- Be Safety conscious, dependable, and contribute to our positive environment and culture.
- Ability to analyze and improve processes to improve quality and efficiency.
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment, with minimum supervision.
- Detailed knowledge of electrical systems, code requirements, and instrumentation
- Have knowledge of Rockwell, EATON, Schneider, and IDEC plc’s and the various software associated to each manufacturer.
- Good understanding of electrical circuitry, and how to trouble shoot it.
- High school diploma or equivalent, associate’s degree or Trade school or certificate is a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of Electrical Technician experience working with plc’s, drives and electrical control panels.
