Summary

The OU College of Dentistry is seeking an experienced PMP certified Senior Project Manager to drive operational improvement across the College. The role leads the development and rollout of project management methodology, manages project productivity and outcomes, and ensures timely communication with leadership.

Duties
  • Independently lead project teams to support performance excellence initiatives across all departments.
  • Manage day‑to‑day responsibilities of assigned projects and develop long‑range strategic planning.
  • Develop and refine performance improvement and project management methodology, and maintain college and department goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure the College has the infrastructure and resources required to perform its role effectively and efficiently.
  • Monitor project timelines to ensure resources are available and applied appropriately to achieve desired performance goals in a timely manner.
  • Provide support for multiple process improvement efforts and present best practice examples from other organizations or industries.
  • Act as an internal consultant providing process facilitation support and rigorous analytical support to project teams.
  • Maintain active tracking tools and risk management summaries for all projects designated by senior management and summarize individual project progress and risks to senior management.
  • Keep abreast of recent trends and developments in process innovation and project management in the healthcare field and related industries.
  • Maintain effective internal and external communication regarding process innovation and project management efforts, and provide consultative, coaching, or mentoring services to management and/or department staff as appropriate.
  • Participate in meetings and committees and represent the College in various capacities within the University, overseeing the development and implementation of communication plans.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Requirements

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, Healthcare, or a related field, AND 72 months of project management experience (including 36 months of management or leadership experience). 48 months of related experience may substitute for the bachelor’s degree for a total of 120 months of related experience.

Certifications: None required; PMP certification highly desired.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification highly desired
  • Lean or Six Sigma experience is a plus
