Physical Security Project Lead

Department: Physical Security
Reports To: Physical Security Manager

Position Summary

The Physical Security Project Lead is responsible for planning, coordinating, and successfully executing physical security installation projects, including access control and surveillance systems. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within scope, and meet quality standards. The Project Lead works closely with customers, vendors, and internal teams to oversee installation, configuration, system testing, and project documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and oversee physical security projects from start to finish
  • Coordinate labor, materials, and schedules to meet project deadlines and budgets
  • Lead on-site installation teams, providing technical direction and oversight
  • Perform system configuration, validation, and testing, including customer sign‑off
  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding project timelines, milestones, and expectations
  • Work with vendors and manufacturers to ensure timely delivery of equipment and technical support
  • Complete and maintain all project documentation, including diagrams, programming notes, and as‑built documentation
  • Provide post‑installation support and handoff to the service team
  • Identify and proactively elevate project issues or changes in scope
  • Ensure all work complies with safety guidelines and state licensing requirements
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in physical security systems installation and project management
  • Strong understanding of access control, surveillance, and security system infrastructure
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong technical background with experience in system configuration and troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, wiring diagrams, and system schematics
  • Professional communication skills with experience working directly with customers and vendors
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Verkada, Avigilon, Axis, Genetec, or similar (preferred)
  • Project management certifications or training (PMP, CAPM, or similar) are a plus
