Tier 1 Helpdesk Technician – UICGS / Bowhead Family of Companies
Bowhead seeks a Tier 1 Helpdesk Technician to provide tier‑level support to end users. The ideal candidate will possess at least 2 years of IT help‑desk experience with a strong background in Microsoft Office 365, and will resolve computer problems in person, via telephone or email. Duties include troubleshooting hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, email, and operating systems.
Shifts- Day Shift: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
- Swing Shift: 11:30 am – 8:00 pm
- Night Shift: 8:45 pm – 5:15 am
- Install separate LAN closet for Government NIPRNET and SIPRNet connection.
- Install required power and cooling to the LAN closet.
- Install and configure hardware and connectivity for the Automated Call Distribution (ACD) system.
- Configure and install agent workstations with EDC/SDC images, peripheral, and network connections to support on‑premise and virtual service desk analysts.
- Establish VPN with CAC connectivity to support remote users.
- Support integration with ITSM system.
- 2 + years of professional, relevant experience.
- A⁺ or Network⁺ certification highly preferred.
- Security⁺ certification highly preferred.
- Associate’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field; degree may substitute for experience on a year‑to‑year basis.
- Strong critical‑thinking, active‑listening, complex‑problem‑solving, coordination, judgment, decision‑making, and monitoring skills.
- Knowledge of computers & electronics, customer & personal service, telecommunications, administration & management, engineering & technology.
- Abilities: oral/written comprehension/expression, problem sensitivity, deductive & inductive reasoning, information ordering.
- Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods; confined to workstation.
- Physical tasks: climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, pulling, pushing; lifting up to 25 lbs; repeated twists, bends, squats.
- Ability to work irregular hours, intense concentration, frequent travel; unpredictable deadlines or demands.
- Reach/relocate items above shoulder; work around machinery; exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
- Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically.
Must be able to obtain or maintain a secret‑level security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required for Secret clearance at this location.
