Position Summary
The IT Systems & Security Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining the security and operation of information systems in support of government and Department of Defense (DoD) contracts. This role ensures compliance with applicable federal cybersecurity requirements while providing hands‑on IT system administration and technical support to authorized users.
Key Responsibilities- Implement, manage, and enforce information system security controls in accordance with DoD and federal requirements (e.g., NIST, RMF, DFARS)
- Oversee and manage the Risk Management Framework (RMF) lifecycle for classified systems.
- Develop, implement, and maintain system security plans (SSPs), POA&Ms, security policies, procedures, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate and lead security assessments, audits, inspections, and tabletop exercises.
- Monitor, assess, and remediate system vulnerabilities and security incidents.
- Maintain system authorization documentation and support audits, inspections, and compliance activities.
- Administer user accounts, access controls, and authentication mechanisms.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot IT systems, networks, and end‑user devices.
- Perform system patching, backups, updates, and continuity‑of‑operations support.
- Maintain system security plans (SSPs), procedures, and technical documentation.
- Provide configuration management for security‑relevant information system software and hardware.
- Coordinate with government customers, auditors, and internal stakeholders on IT and security matters.
- Support security awareness training and policy enforcement.
- Experience in information systems security and IT system administration in a regulated or government environment.
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and federal compliance requirements.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Active DoD security clearance required.
- Familiarity with NIST SP 800‑53, 800‑171, RMF, DFARS, or CMMC requirements.
- Security or IT certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP, CISM, Network+).
- Experience supporting classified or controlled unclassified information (CUI) environments.
